Why convert PNG to JPG?
JPG files are dramatically smaller than PNGs for photos and complex images — often 80–90% smaller. Convert when you need to email pictures, upload to sites with size limits, or speed up a web page where transparency isn't needed.
Transparency note: JPG has no alpha channel. If your PNG has transparent areas, they'll be filled with a background color — white by default, or pick any color with the color swatch above.
How to convert PNG to JPG
- 1Drop one or more PNG files into the box (up to 30).
- 2Choose a quality level and, for transparent PNGs, a background color.
- 3Click Convert to JPG and download each result.
Supported formats
Input: PNG up to 20 MB each — including transparent PNGs. Output: JPG at your chosen quality (90% by default).
Frequently asked questions
›What happens to transparent areas?
JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with your chosen background color (white by default). Pick a color that matches where the image will be used.
›How much smaller will my file get?
Photographic PNGs typically shrink by 80–95% when converted to JPG at 90% quality. Graphics with few colors shrink less — those are better left as PNG.
›What quality should I choose?
90% is a safe default that looks identical for most uses. Drop to 70–80% for the smallest files that still look good on screen.
›Is this private?
Yes — files are converted locally in your browser and never uploaded.
