Reduce an image to exactly the size you need
Many portals enforce strict upload limits: job applications and government forms often demand photos under 100 KB, email providers reject large attachments, and marketplaces cap listings at 500 KB or 1 MB. This tool automatically finds the best combination of quality and dimensions to get your image under the limit — no trial and error.
How it works
- 1Drop in your JPG, PNG or WEBP image.
- 2Pick a preset — 100 KB, 500 KB or 1 MB — or enter a custom target.
- 3Click Reduce. The tool searches for the highest quality that fits your target, shrinking dimensions only if needed.
- 4Download the result and upload it wherever you need.
Supported formats
Input: JPG, PNG and WEBP up to 20 MB. Output is JPG (or WEBP if you uploaded WEBP) because lossless PNG can't reliably hit small targets. Transparent areas are flattened to white.
Frequently asked questions
›Will my image be exactly 100 KB?
The tool gets as close to the target as possible without going over — typically within a few percent. It never lies about the result: the final size is always shown before you download.
›What if the target is impossible?
For extreme cases (say, a huge poster to 10 KB) the tool shrinks dimensions progressively. If the target still can't be reached safely, it tells you honestly and gives you the smallest usable result.
›Does this work for passport/visa photo uploads?
Yes — that's one of the most common uses. Pick 100 KB (or enter the exact limit from the form), and the photo will fit while staying as sharp as possible.
›Is anything uploaded?
No — the entire size search runs in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
